Cro-Magnons (Homo sapiens) were early humans that lived during the Pleistocene epoch. They were the ancestors of modern humans, including Nigel Marven and the rest of the Prehistoric Park staff.
In Prehistoric Park[]
A Mammoth Undertaking[]
Sometime before or during Nigel's mission, a tribe of Cro-Magnons had made a woolly mammoth trap out of a pit and sticks near a river and caught a female woolly mammoth. The Cro-Magnons then closed in for the kill, after the rest of the herd had left, but her sister stayed behind and tried to defend her. Despite this obstacle, the Cro-Magnons successfully speared the mammoth to death and wounded her sister in the process. They then left the trap with the apparent intention of waiting until the sister was weak enough to be killed.
Later, during the night, the tribe returned to finish off the remaining mammoth and lurked in the forest whilst Nigel Marven and his team was protecting the aforementioned mammoth. It was implied that they avoided the site due to the presence of the team.
